The effect of extroversion and differentiation on listener‐adapted communication
Michael L. Hecht, Franklin J. Boster, Sarah Ariel Lamer · Communication Reports · 1989
It was hypothesized that listener‐adapted communication is proportional to the extroversion of the communicator. This hypothesis was tested by including another known predictor of listener‐adapted communication (differentiation). The results of regression analysis are consistent with this prediction. The failure of differentiation to exert a substantial impact on listener‐adapted communication may have resulted from the lack of complexity of the communication task.
