Intensity Dependent Spread Filters

We propose an extremely efficient, approach for the implementation of an intensity dependent filter which models the operation of the human retina. Such filters are required in photographic and electronic imaging applications. The derivative properties of B- spline functions lead to orders of magnitude reduction in both the number of arithmetic operations and circuit complexity.
