Modification of a Fixed‐Range Potentiometer Recorder into a Variable‐Range Recorder
Frank A. Kanda, RICHARD C. SHAVER · Journal of the American Ceramic Society · 1953
The circuit of a Brown Electronik strip chart recording potentiometer was easily and inexpensively modified to enable rapid selection of ranges and spans by means of variable precision resistors. Variable zero‐point suppression combined with an adjustable span makes the instrument ideal for the study of continuous phenomena. The modified instrument possesses good reproducibility and stability. Data are presented to show the effects of settings of the modified components on the spans and ranges of the instrument.
