An Adaptive Transmission Scheme for Meteor-Burst Communication

We consider the use of rate-compatible variable-rate punctured codes for implementing an adaptive transmission scheme for MB communication. The performance of the scheme is investigated both theoretically and through computer simulation. The results indicate that a rate-adaptive strategy leads to a more efficient use of available received power than fixed coding rate strategies.
