In this arlicle there is a description of a new hardware structure for small real-time systems which is time delerministic in the execution of CPU instructions and the real-time operating s.ystern. It also iiicludes the studies of practicabilitjl and the difficulties in impleme~i~ing [.lie structure. 1 Iiitroductioii ‘l’lie designers of hard rea.l-t,inie systems want to know whether the response time for all functions will be shorter than a specified maxiniuiii time. In the article we define a IIW unit. named RTU, Real ‘hie LJnit,, which works coiicurrent,ly wit,li the CPU.
