Cloud storage is a model of networked online storage to support asynchronous resource storing for various platforms such as desktops, smartphones and laptops. Cloud storage, which is generally hosted by third parties, is usually used as back-end storage of applications or private storage for users. Unfortunately, cloud storage only provides virtual spaces and operations for simple data storing but supports neither operations nor access control functionality for group works. In this paper, we present a middleware named C3ware, which supports group works using collaborative services and workspaces over cloud storage. For this, we abstract cloud storage services, and define collaborative services necessary for group works. On the top of the abstract cloud storage services, the middleware creates workspaces to support various types of resource sharing and provides the collaborative services to perform group works on the workspaces.
