SYSTEMMODEL Thispaperproposes an adaptive pseudonoise (PN)code acquisition systemthatadopts smartantennas anda cell averaging constant false alarm rate(CA-CFAR) processor to achieve reliable PN codeacquisition inthepresence offading andinterference. Hence,thedecision threshold isadjusted according tothevarying environment inorder toimprove the detection performance. Theperformance oftheproposed system hasbeenassessed theoretically by deriving closed form expressions fortheprobability ofdetection andprobability of false alarm. Themeanacquisition timeisalsoobtained, and simulation results havebeenpresented toverify thederived theoretical analysis.
