Crosstalk Prevention and Reduction in SuperV Back-end Design

Donghui Wang, Shan Rui, Zhang Tie-jun, Hong Ying · 2006

Crosstalk is becoming a major issue in deep submicron VLSI design due to high frequency, high density and long interconnecting lines and small spacing between interconnections today. In this paper, techniques for reducing crosstalk is summarized and a back-end design flow optimized for crosstalk is presented based on Astro, which can reduce crosstalk in deep submicron VLSI design. The flow has been used in our DSP processor - superV back-end design successfully, and the nets affected by crosstalk that exceed the noise threshold decreased from more than 500 to 4. The 4 nets affected by crosstalk are corrected by ECO. The superV chip has been taped out in July 2004, and it can work in 266MHz
