Design and implementation issues in oversampled filter banks

Fabrice Labeau · 2003

Oversampled filter banks (OFBs) have recently gained interest for different applications, including subband adaptive filtering, echo cancellation and even coding. The existing theory on filter banks is mainly concentrated on critically decimated filter banks. It is shown how existing structures for implementation and design of critically decimated filter banks can be exploited in order to implement and/or design OFBs. The structures based on a Smith-McMillan decomposition are explored.
