Raw or Calibrated data tapes may be used to produce high resolution range and EAR images. The frequency-stepped linear I and Q data are first transformed from the frequency to the time, Le., range domain using a Fourier transform. This first transform produces range profiles. The data presented in this paper used 64 frequency steps at 5 MHz intervals. resulting in a range resolution of 0.234 meters and a total imaged range extent of 15 meters. An inverse Fourier transform is applied across successive time or azimuth samples at each range bin to produce ISAR images. The Doppler frequency information produced by this second transformation provide the cross-range information for the EAR images.
