Application of Spread-Spectrum Watermark Technique in Anti-Plagiarism

The plagiarism issue especially on electronic assignments on a university campus has been getting more serious all over the world. Students usually take advantage of someone else’s work to improve their own evaluations or grades. The plagiarism detection methods can be carried out in hermetic and web environment. In this thesis, we focus on studying anti-plagiarism method of electronic assignment in hermetic environment, such as computer laboratory. The contribution of our paper lies in presenting a new method with high-efficiency watermark algorithm and spread spectrum technique to against plagiarism. The application of spectrum spreading in the watermark plays a role being able to protect the privacy of students, against malicious slander, increase the robustness. The system has been used in our teaching practice for two years and the detection rate of these plagiarism samples reached to 97.36%, which indicated our system for anti-plagiarism is effective in hermetic environment.
