A 1 GBIT/second GaAs DES chip

A data encryption chip implementing the DES algorithm has been developed. The implementation is based on a Vitesse FURY 15K gate array. Custom-designed precharged logic is used to achieve an encryption rate of 1 GBit/s, using a 250 MHz clock.
