Verification of Hypothesis about Image Content Using Active Contour Approach

In the paper, a new way for application and interpretation of the active contour approach is presented. It is shown that active contours can be used as a concept recognition method which allows verification of one or more hypotheses about the image content. Consequently, the method fulfils the main paradigm of image understanding.
