Diurnal variation of sweeper activity

The diurnal variation in HF sweep frequency radio noise bursts was measured on one particular day. Most noise was observed during daylight although some was received at night. The daylight maximum in rate of burst reception was interspersed with sharp variations. Analysis indicated that the character of the daylight bursts was different from the nighttime bursts.
