Architecture Modeling for Interoperability Analysis on the Future Internet

Johan Ullberg, Robert Lagerström, Marten J. Van Sinderen, Pontus Johnson · 2012

This chapter proposes architecture modeling and interoperability analysis as support functions in the ad-hoc business networks service life cycle. The main idea presented is that if the enterprises have architecture models containing the necessary information for analysis of various system qualities, e.g. interoperability, these can be automatically evaluated. A tool matching these models can automatically determine at runtime whether the services of the enterprises can collaborate. In order for such analysis to work, the enterprises need to have a common metamodel for their architecture models. A previously defined metamodel for interoperability analysis is employed here. The main contribution of the chapter is to illustrate how an existing interoperability meta-model can be used in the service lifecycle of ad-hoc business networks on the Future Internet. Controlled Vocabulary Terms interoperability; modelling
