Session Summary Comparisons of Software Process Descriptions
Marc I. Kellner, H. Dieter Rombach · 2005
This second session of the 6th Intemational Software Process Workshop (ISPW-6) focused on comparisons among alternative languages and approaches for representing software processes. A number of predominantly representational issues and preliminary observations were discussed in the context of a software process modeling example problem that had been devised for this purpose. Eighteen solutions to this common problem had been presented and discussed by Workshop participants at a special working meeting two days earlier. Results and observations from that modeling exercise formed the core of this session. The detailed solutions are available separately. (See footnote 1, following section 2.3.) Due to the fact that this session was, in part, intended to summarize the earlier working meeting, it was somewhat more oriented toward presentation rather than discussion. Nevertheless, substantial valuable discussion ensued during this session. Both the presentation material and the discussion are summarized in this report.
