Abstract This paper presents a configuration of switching LSI based on 1.3 um CMOS technology, its function and application example to the channel switching. the switching LSI has a function to switch arbitrary time slots of the input and output highways. the switching capacity of 1024 × 1024 channels was realized by a single chip. the LSI includes the higher‐level functions of processor interface, but frame synchronization and fault monitoring. As an example of applications of this LSI, a switching network with 32768 channels (max) is realized.
