High Resolution Electrocardiography By Spectral Analysis

Metin Akay, William Craelius, Walter Welkowitz · 2005

Small synchronous wavelets buried in a noisy ECG were digitally simulated as standardized signals for development of high resolution electrocardiography. In order to detect small cardiac potentials on a beat-to beat basis, spectral analytic methods were applied to the simulated ECG for low signal-to-noise ratios. High resolution spectral estimation methods such as the Minimum-Norm detected ventricular late potentials bmied in noise on a beat-to-beat basis. Results showed that a standardized digital test is useful in developing high resolution electrocardiography and Minimum-Norm method appears to be a powerful enhancement tool for signals such as late potentials.
