Caroline Victoria Wamala · Signs · 2014
Underdeveloped communication infrastructures have encouraged innovative forms of accessing and using information technology. Drawing on a year of ethnographic fieldwork among farmers in Uganda, this article analyzes the intersection where traditional and new media merge. The results show that despite the inclusiveness of this approach, combining theatrical performances with information technology can have both empowering and disempowering effects.
