Panos Markopoulos studied computer science and specialized in human-computer interaction. His research concerns intra-family communication, privacy and interaction design for children. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Design of the Eindhoven University of Technology. Boris de Ruyter is an experimental psychologist with an interest in applying user modeling and psychometric techniques in the domains of consumer electronics, personal healthcare and lighting. He is a Principal Scientist at Philips Research leading the Cognitive and Behavioural Insights capability group and the Interactive Healthcare Solutions research programme. Wendy Mackay was trained in experimental psychology and computer science with an interest in multi-media, mixed reality and multidisciplinary design. She is a Research Director at INRIA in France and heads the in|situ| research group at INRIA Futurs and the University of Paris-Sud.
