A serial search code acquisition technique for cellular CDMA systems

Hyung‐Rae Park, Kyung‐Joon Lee, Yang-Ki Kang · 2002

The performance of a serial search code acquisition technique is analyzed for cellular CDMA networks in the case of multiple pilot signals. A general expression for the mean acquisition time is obtained by taking into account the multiple H/sub 1/ regions formed by the pilot signals coming from different base stations. The probabilities of detection and false alarm are derived for frequency-selective Rayleigh fading environments under the assumption that the interference is wide-sense stationary. A numerical evaluation is performed to examine the effects of decision thresholds, post-detection integration, and fading rate, in the case where the mobile station is located around the cell boundary.
