An Images Enhancement Based on Partial Contrast Ratio Transformation

LU Shu-xi, Yujuan Wang · 2009

Concerning the images of low contrast ratio, this paper presents a new defining approach for the partial contrast ratio. A new enhancement exponential function is used to measure the enhancement degree, while the fuzzy entropy is taken to weigh the partial detailed information. Given the entire contrast information, the enhancement index is determined, and then the fuzzy contrast transformation is performed through the exponential function. Through this revision of the fuzzy contrast, the information of low ratio domains would be effectively amplified, and that of the high ratio domains could be perfectly reserved, and the noise is avoided. This algorithm has nice performance in the contrast experiments over the ultrasound image of the human soft tissue and can also reduce the false positive rate in clinical diagnosis , which has wide application value.
