Using a few buffers and latches for storing the values of the samples and the most significant bytes of look-up tables, it is possible to increase considerably the sampling rate, and consequently the bandwidth. of digital filters implemented by means of a general-purpose microprocessor with fixed wordlength and fixed instruction set.
