One iris recognition algorithm, based on fractal dimension, was presented. Utilizing mathematical morphologic operator and parabolic mask, the iris inner edge and eyelid was located. Then, we proposed extreme value weighted mean fractal dimension to extract feature matrix of iris. In match stage, we adopted correlation classifier to recognize iris. The experiment results show that extreme value weighted mean fractal dimension has wide range to express iris; Recognize algorithm is high precise and rapid.
