Spectrum sharing between a fixed-service microwave system and a cellular CDMA mobile radio system
Dirk Poppen · 2002
Spectrum sharing of an outdoor cellular code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile radio system (bandwidth 1.25 MHz) with a digital German fixed service microwave system (bandwidth/channel 29 MHz) in the 2000-MHz frequency domain is discussed. The calculation of mutual interference situations is based on a model comprising a part of a cellular mobile radio system with a homogeneous hexagonal cell structure and a fixed service radio link. The system coexistence under some worst-case assumptions is analyzed, and signal-to-interference ratios in different interfering situations are calculated. The results show that under the condition of a careful choice of the CDMA system parameters, coexistence seems to be possible, even in worst-case situations.
