Software reliability: assumptions, realities and data
M. Defamie, Paul S. Jacobs, Jacques Thollembeck · 1999
Software reliability models are an important issue to identify the actual state of the system during the quality assurance process and to predict the customer release reliability. Major assumptions of state of the art models are compared with some realities of a very large system from industry. Data (failure statistics) observed during the quality assurance process and after 7 years of customer release (1990-96) are supplied to validate existing or upcoming research models.
