Defense Data Network (DDN) Performance Analysis Using Probability Modeling

Probability models are constructed for (i) guiding selection of packet size when transmission errors occur at a given, non-bursty rate, (ii) describing delay at a Packet Switching Node when all traffic sources to the node follow the same re-transmit policy. "Exponential backoff is modeled, and optimal choice of retransmit intervals is discussed.
