Performance enhancement of multipath interfered packet radios by extended time-out

Jyh‐Horng Wen, Jin-Fu Chang · IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology · 1992

In a previous study (see IEEE Trans. Commun., vol.38, no.6, p.740-3, 1990) of the effect of multipath interference on the performance of packet radios using ALOHA or slotted ALOHA protocols, only packets from the direct path were counted in the evaluation of throughput and delay. Possible enhancement in performance caused by including packets from delay paths in the evaluation is studied. To reflect situations in practice, the effect of power capture is incorporated in the analysis.>
