Restructuring revised: A theoretical note on Ohlsson's mechanism of restructuring

A critique of Ohlsson's (1984) ‘mechanism of restructuring’ is forwarded through an elaboration of the way in which information is organized in memory and the resultant types of retrieval possible. A basic form of organization of information is outlined and two examples briefly considered to illustrate the implications of these proposals.
