Agglomerative model for fuzzy relational clustering (FRC)

The concept of agglomerative model has been incorporated in fuzzy relational clustering (FRC) to address the issue of unknown numbers of clusters and a new agglomerative fuzzy relational clustering (A-FRC) is proposed. The method starts with a large number of small clusters. As the iteration proceeds, the number of clusters is progressively reduced based on the cardinality of the clusters. The algorithm then finally converges to an optimal number of clusters. The proposed algorithm has been tested for both object data and relational data.
