Band separated MC-CDMA system for down-link cellular networks
Toshiaki Fujii, K. Lee · 2006
This paper proposes multi-cell interference reduction tech- nique for down-link MC-CDMA mobile communication systems. In the proposed system, MC-CDMA band is separated into a few frequency band blocks and each block is prioritized in each cell in order to give different pri- ority among neighboring cells. In the prioritized band, the base station can transmit the signals with large power compared to the other non-priority band. In the proposed system, the signals for the terminals of low signal power to interference power ratio (SIR), like at the edge of the cell, are trans- mitted on the priority band for increasing the desired signal power and re- ducing the multi-cell interference. On the other hand, the signals for the ter- minals of high SIR, like around the center of the cell, are transmitted on the non-priority band for reducing the interference toward the other cells. By using the computer simulations, we can confirm that the proposed band sep- arated MC-CDMA system can improve the total bit error rate performance on the down-link cellular networks. I. INTRODUCTION
