Communication Networks and Monitoring

An abstract analysis of communication networks reveals certain formal properties that have considerable significance in determining how effectively they will perform their functions. The regulation or control of the flow of information over the network also serves to determine the effectiveness of the system. Here is a theoretical examination of the part played by monitoring in a variety of communication networks.
