Using experiences as a basis for distinguishing identically manufactured and assembled semi-autonomous systems

J.J. Farah · 2002

Experience has been offered in many forums as a key contributor to the development of a simple system into an intelligent autonomous system (IAS). Yet, the examination of the experiences that an IAS has had has not been viewed as a means for distinguishing two IAS from one another. In the preliminary research presented, the author proposes that through the creation of an experience map based upon error recovery task planning, two physically identical, identically programmed IAS can be distinguished from one another. Essentially, it is proposed that as an IAS develops (i.e., interacts with an environment), the experience map it generates creates a unique fingerprint which can then be used as an identifier.
