Programming and design considerations of a highly parallel computer
Jon S. Squire, Sandra. Palais · 1963
A number of automata and automatic computing devices have been proposed whose operations could be considered highly parallel. These include von Neumann's tesselation model for self-reproducing automata, the ENIAC computer, John Holland's iterative circuit computer, S. H. Unger's spatially oriented computer, and the SOLOMON computer. The literature available on these machines indicates programming facility played a subordinate role to design. Cf.
