On the Performance of Covariance Based Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio

In this paper, the distribution of the test-statistic for the covariance based detection (CBD) is studied in order to obtain the mathematical expressions of false alarm probability (Pf) and detection probability (Pd) . The formulation of decision threshold λ for anyPfis also presented. The expression ofPdallows to evaluate the performance of the CBD technology. Finally, the decision threshold, as well as the derivedPfandPd, is verified with Monte-Carlo simulations.
