Double differentially demodulated scheme for shortburst OFDM systemsoperating in frequency selective environments

J.A. Hurst, Ian James Wassell · Electronics Letters · 2000

Double differential quadrature phase shift keying (D-DQPSK) is applied to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) operating in AWGN and frequency selective channels. D-DQPSK is a modification of DQPSK modulation and seeks advantage over its conventional brethren by implementing a second-order system, theoretically eliminating the effects of a constant frequency offset and improving the BER. This technique is envisaged as finding use in an environment where short packets of ‘bursty’ data are transmitted, i.e. a wireless local area network (W-LAN).
