Design version management in the GARDEN framework
Flávio Rech Wagner, Arnaldo H. Viegas de Lima · 1991
ii data model for representing complex design objects and supporting design version management is among the most important features of design frameworks.Although most of the existing frameworks allow a correct representation of modularity and hierarchy, they do not offer powerful and flexible mechanisms for supporting all dimensions of the design evolution process (views at various abstraction levels, alternate design solutions, and revisions for each alternative /vie\v) and the relationships between them.In this paper, the data model of the GARDEN framework is presented, and it is shown why it is superior to other existing approaches regarding design version management.
