Performance analysis of interference rejection techniques in spread spectrum communication
R. lqbal, Jatinder S. Bedi · 2005
Inherent processing gain of spread spectrum communication provides relatively higher degree of interference resistance. Two techniques have been discussed providing interference immune communication, while operating in heavy interference enviroments. First is digital whitening, accomplished by the use of transversal filter whose coefficients are found either using Levinson's algorithm or algorithm developed by Burg. Second technique discussed, provides very impressive theoretical performance against CW interference in DS-SS system. An estimate of interference level is used to suppress interference prior to correlation process in the receiver. Then a multi-tone interference rejection in FH-SS system is proposed, error signal during every hopping interval is appropriately used to adjust the timing clock of VCO synchronizing the output of digital frequency synthesizer to the incoming signals. At the end performance of all these techniques are analyzed.
