Three dimensional image reconstruction from a limited field of view
S. Bahl, James A. Liburdy · 2003
Two transform techniques, a series expansion method and an iterative technique, are used to reconstruct 3-D images under the constraint of a limited field of view. The images under consideration are phase objects existing in an infinite environment. The procedures analyze the phase object by sequentially examining discrete planes through the object, resulting in 2-D functional estimates from multidirectional data. The input data are in the form of the Radon transform of the function describing the phase object. There is very good reconstruction for a 45 degrees angle of view provided the viewing direction is aligned with regions of local minima. Isolated views outside of the continuous viewing range, improve accuracy greatly.>
