On Grobner bases of the error-locator ideal of Hermitian codes

The authors consider error-correcting codes constructed from an affine version of the Hermitian curve. The procedure for determining the error positions is independent of the method needed to find the error values. A decoding method based on Buchberger's algorithm (1985) is developed.
