Real Time Scientific Visualization of the ALE Based Free Surface Simulation for Virtual Reality Applications

This paper discusses real time visualisation of free surface flows that are modelled using an Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) approach. To integrate the dynamic simulation with the visualization, a comprehensive yet extensible Graphical User Interface (GUI) is used. The visualization technique employed is demonstrated on a free surface flow problem of sloshing waves in a tank. The ALE approach is also presented briefly for completeness. Key words:
