A new modulation scheme for multiple access interference reduction in frequency hopping networks

A new modulation scheme is proposed to reduce the multiple access interference inherent to frequency hopping networks. The new scheme namely MAFSK is a hybrid of the conventional noncoherent M-ary frequency shift keying and M-ary amplitude shift keying. The hybrid modulation scheme provides significant flexibility to optimize the system BER performance for different operating conditions.
