Low penalty monolithic 2x2 quantum dot switch

The first monolithic 2x2 switch with InGaAs quantum dots in the active layer has been designed, fabricated and demonstrated. A 10Gb/s bit error rate measurement indicates a very low path dependent switching power penalty of <0.1 dB.
