A Robust Nonlinear PID Congestion Control Algorithm for Time-Delay Network with Parametric Uncertainty

Qian Yan-ping, Qi Li · 2006

A robust nonlinear PID (RNPID) congestion control algorithm was proposed to alleviate the time-delay and parameters time-varying influence on the performance of network, which was based on a first-order time-delay system with parametric interval uncertainty derived from fluid-flow model. The region of the nonlinear PID parameters making the closed-loop system stable was ascertained and the optimal parameters of the controller was obtained using genetic algorithm with the improved integrated time absolute error (ITAE). The edge theorem extended to time-delay systems was used to determine a complete set of RNPID controller parameters. Simulation results show RMPID controller could achieve favorable performances and is robust against parametric interval uncertainties.
