Cellular networking: a carrier's perspective
K.W. Kaczmarek · 2003
The author discusses interim and long-term approaches to intersystem networking. Several interim solutions have been identified and are being offered to provide validation, call deliver, and hand-off for cellular users. It is projected that implementation of more sophisticated system interface standards which will allow 'seamless' operation between cellular, landline, and other communications systems will be the next step. A figure representing the cellular SS7 network of the future is presented.>
