Performance of four new runlength constrained recording codes

We investigate the performance of four recently published runlength constrained recording codes. Parameters of these codes are R = 1/3, (d, k) = (1/2), R = 1/4, (d, k) = (4, 7), R = 1/4, (d, k) = (4, 8) and R = 1/4, (d, k) = (5, 9). Graphs of the bit error rates on the binary symmetric channel and a two-state bursty channel are presented. We investigate error propagation probabilities and present the measured power spectral densities of these codes.
