Registration of MR images: from 2D to 3D, using a projection based cross correlation method

In the image registration problem, the 2D cross correlation method is accurate but time consuming. Projection of images is used in order to decrease the amount of data to process. Results are given in the case of 2D registration of T1 weighted MR images. Then, an extension to 3D registration is proposed.
