Organizing and synchronizing multi-agent systems with the help of abstract money (currency)
Tadeusz Szuba, Robert Stras · 2005
This paper proposes to adopt the general concept of currency (money) to investigate the problems of organizing and synchronizing multi-agent systems. Message-passing and similar methods presently used do not provide advanced recommendations as to how agents should be designed, synchronized, and then organized into computational systems. Money has a proper formal definition and a variety of different implementation forms with clear and inspiring interpretations. It is expected that use of money as a factor will provide a clear software-engineering instruction as to how agents individually should be built and how multi- agent systems could be globally organized in an optimal way to run complex computational problems. Here we present a theoretical discussion as well as some experiments, which are underway.
