Asynchronous logic design with transition flip-flops

D.F. Cox · 2003

Asynchronous design was given a formal design methodology by David Huffman in 1954. The procedure describes a flow process that can be used to develop Karnaugh maps from which combinatorial logic gates with feedback are used to implement the asynchronous requirements. This paper will describe a formal design procedure that can be used to implement asynchronous circuits by using D flip-flop cells. Space flight electronics should also be low power due to the limited weight of battery and solar generation systems.
