Flash memory data storage – case study

Artur Wilczek · 2010

Flash memory replaces classic, magnetic mass memory storage used in computer systems. SDD (Solid State Disc) disks based on flash memory replace hard discs drives (HDD). SDD discs offer much shorter access times, tens times shorter in respect to HDD discs where random access is considered. Unfortunately sequential access and write operations are not so effective. This work aims to analyze profits of using flash memory storage in sample database system configuration.
